Hot Hatchbacks

Yes! It's another reality, possibility, dream! As you might have guessed, the price brackets will be much lower than the SUVs. You could be in for a real shock when you see the last one!
Reality
Ford Fiesta ST

They haven't released it yet, but it will be just the same as any old Fiesta--a typical hatchback that hardly looks different to this Focus RS, also coming out in 2017:

The only visual difference is the stupid spoiler on the back! The Fiesta costs £18,545 so not too bad at all. It does 47 mpg, so not brilliant. That might disappoint you, but the acceleration is actually pretty good! 0-60 in 6.7 secs. It does 434 miles on a full tank so I guess not too awful for a hatchback. Despite those good stats and the fact that the interior looks awesome with the red part, the screen is as small as an Iphone 3s!! (great similes there!) With all the tech nowadays, you would have thought Ford would do a much better job in the tech department!! Also, the buttons look like they came out of 2010!!!! Overall, apart from the seats, Ford have done a TERRIBLE job on the interior. The Ford Fiesta doesn't have a great track record either, and I don't think this one will be any different!!
Verdict
For a car that I generally have never liked much, this isn't too bad. But Ford, Ford, you HAVE to work on your interior, especially your technology
Possibility
Peugeot 208 GTI

I have never, ever liked a Peugeot, but this is a different car to any monstrosity they have ever made! A beautiful, small, cute hatchback, nothing like the Fiesta or the Focus. It just looks so nice! The only problem is that it only has 3 doors, so can't really be a family car. It has a better 0-60 than the Ford (6.6 secs), the same mpg, and can do longer on a full tank (517 miles) despite the fact that the peugeot is soooo much smaller! Peugeot are also more reliable than Ford, in fact, they're one of the most reliable car makes in the world! On top of all that, the interior is nicer! the screen is bigger, the seats look nicer, everything in this car is just generally better than the Fiesta. And all that for just an extra £1,000! The base model of this Peugeot costs £19,000! why would you get the Fiesta when you can get this!!!!!
Verdict
The Peugeot is just better than the Ford! Well done Peugeot on everything in this car!!
Dream
Mercedes Benz A class

Mercedes have made a good looking car here and the fuel economy is good too-51 mpg. But that's about the only thing it does well! 0-60 is about 2 seconds slower than our other 2 contenders and the top speed is roughly 10 mph slower!! It can do 561 miles on a full tank, which is the best of the bunch, but appart from that, I don't think it's that good, and that comes from someone who really likes Mercedes! they've made a mess of this car! Anyway, at least the interior looks nice! Atmospheric lights and the seats look nice as well. But, I have to say, that's about all that is good in there! The buttons look pretty much the same as the Ford Fiesta's and the screen is only a bit bigger. The price is around £20,000 so not great. They are reliable for the first 3 years of their life, but afterwards start to break down.
Verdict
Mercedes have done an absolutely AWFUL job here.
Table of results (using the base model)
I will award 1 point to the best, 2 to 2nd, and 3 to 3rd-whoever has the least points wins! If a tie occurs, say in 2nd, then they both get 2 points! Here we go, may the best car win.
